1953 ‐
Nishida Shunei was born in Mie Prefecture.
He originally learned oil painting, but turned to Japanese painting after graduating the high school.
He won a prize at Inten for the first time while studying at Musashino Art University.
After graduating, he learned from Okumura Togyu and Shiode Hideo. He produced works for Inten, and often won prizes.
In 1995 and 2006, he also received the Adachi Museum of Art Awards.
He has painted lyric works of a wide range of subjects, including portraits and kacho-ga.
