The Adachi Museum of Art opened the Annex in 2010, as its 40th anniversary celebration. The annex houses about 350 masterpieces by promising Japanese painters, including those that have won the Adachi Museum of Art Award. In addition, it holds the Inten Exhibition every autumn, displaying new paintings by regular members of the Japan Art Institute and works accepted by Inten. In the main building, you can appreciate modern Japanese paintings by masters, including Yokoyama Taikan, while the annex offers the opportunity to enjoy the originality of contemporary Japanese paintings. Guests can see the historical flow of Japanese paintings from early-modern to more recent times by experiencing both the main building and the annex.
