Selection of Contemporary Japanese Paintings Ⅰ Ten Painters of Today

Since the establishment of the Adachi Museum of Art Award in 1995, the museum has actively worked to collect contemporary Japanese paintings. In the Annex, which opened in 2010, the essence of these works can be seen. Many of the painters, whose works are owned by the museum, show their grand prosperity. Some painters, who were young when the museum began collecting their works, are now active on the front lines of the current Japanese art world.
This exhibition will show the art of ten contemporary painters; Tabuchi Toshio, Tezuka Yuji, Miyasako Masaaki, Nishida Shunei, Matsumura Koji, Yoshimura Seiji, Odano Naoyuki, Miyakita Chiori, Ide Yasuto and Kishino Kaori. These are the “painters of today”, and also are essential to our contemporary Japanese painting collection. We hope that you will enjoy their unique styles through this exhibition.
