Miyakita Chiori was born in Tokyo.
She graduated from the Graduate School of Tokyo University of Arts in 1994, when she won a prize at Inten for the first time.
She began to work as part of the research team at the Dunhuang Mogao Grottoes in 1993.
Meanwhile, she painted works for Inten and private exhibitions. Inten chose her as a regular member in 2007.
She won the Adachi Museum of Art Awards in 2002 and 2017.
With her bright and various coloring skill and unique compositions, she has focused on painting contemporary female figures.
